Camping Out

I watch as his withered hand reaches into the sea foam green bag of wonders, and retrieve another piece of candy. The bag still appears to be loaded with god knows what else, even after all this time. It’s 88 degrees out on a mid-April afternoon in Jerome, Arizona... Perfect day to be outside.

The old man, slowly chews his candy, smiling and observing a group of kids dart into the theater he sits
right by. He appears at his happiest...

Something occurs to me right there and then. As I watch this old man eat his candy by a movie theater, he’s not only soaking up the sun but soaking in the youth. Or maybe, possibly, reliving his youth the only way he can. This man could not stop time from whisking past him...But I could at least freeze it for him with my camera.
